Adam Goodes - can anyone explain?

Can anyone explain to me how Adam Goodes gets off with a reprimand for his hit on Selwood

I know he is a protected species but struth match review panel can we have some consistency please 

Based on the penalties dished out last week to to Bulldog Murphy in particular and stupid Waters from the Eagle he should have copped 2 weeks. The match review panel set the standard and pinged Murphy because he wasn't looking at the ball only the man

As KB pointed out - he did get a week.

Unfortunately for KB - it was shocker and he should have been given three. Intentional - no question - he lined him up.

1. Goodes plays for Sydney. AFL pet team from a rugby league background . Any help they can get is essential.

2. Goodes can win a Brownlow. Can you imagine at a grass roots level in NSW what that means if a Swans player wins the Brownlow. The more exposure AFL gets the better especially with W Sydney's imminent arrival.

3. Throw in the fact that he lays for the AFL pet club in NSW in a non AFL area he is an Aborigine as well and there you have it as Leigh Matthews says protected species.

All the AFL is trying to do is use him and his face to further the game in NSW and they will do anything to keep it that way. No suspensions Brownlow opps premiership chances finals etc. Expect a conspiracy Sydney flag and possibly one in Brisbane in the next few years to coincide with the Gold Coast W Sydney arrival.

Agree TM. It was worse than Shaun Burgoyne's bump on Sam Mitchell but he had no intention of going for the ball whatsoever in collecting the head.

Funny the game he will miss out on is Collingwood who have lost two games in a row 
 and if anything the one he gets suspended on was less cynical than the one a few weeks back.
