AFL Insider: Possible Richmond Delistings

Richmond

Andrew Collins
Mark Coughlan
Cleve Hughes
Chris Hyde
Danny Meyer
Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls
Kayne Pettifer
Dean Polo
Greg Tivendale

The Tigers always seem to surprise when it comes to player transactions. Rodan delisted, Kingsley acquired, Gaspar signed and then a short time later sent to an early retirement. When season 2008 concludes there could be some moves that are not foreseen, and others that do make sense. The end for JON at Richmond must be near, Meyer as well. Pettifer could be getting a new contract, but if there isn't a spot in the Richmond side for him it could be a strange move. Coughlan has been injured a lot. Tivendale probably is on the way out as they have young players ahead of him now.

Who wrote this rubbish.  >:(

Tiv is a certainty, Hyde a possibility, Petts....? These would be my three choices.

Meyer and Cogs are starting to recover from injuries and Danny is still a kid at 21 (No. 12 draft choice too) so a delisting here would be unlikely.

Bowden may have another year....

Bloody hard decision this year. A positive really for the state and depth of the list at the moment.

Cogs is stuffed.
Meyer has had more time than history
Hughes in mentally soft
Jon is a mushroom.

Where's Kane Johnson name. I know he has shown a little lately.
But to me this is like shutting the gate after the horse has bolted.

Hyde
Tivendale
Pettifer
Johnson
Bowden (although the vets list may save him)

Perhaps delist someone like Meyer/Jackson/JON and put him on the rookie list, risky though

your thoughts on JON??? surely you must see what most people see in that he will not make the grade.

He will be a great player at Coburg but thats it
Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

One thing forgotten is who is contracted and who is out of contract. Cogs and  Cleve are contracted for next year so they aren't going anywhere. The rest of those names are uncontracted.

Andrew Collins - Only 19 and improved this year at Coburg so won't be going anywhere either.

Chris Hyde - Gone!

Danny Meyer - I think they might persist for one more year now his hip problems seem behind him. He's trade value would be poor anyway so we wouldn't get anything in return.

Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls - No fan but would the club forget about its pride and him being pick #8  :P and trade him away like they did with Fiora to secure a player of need like a ruckman?!

Kayne Pettifer - Would've been gone/traded but will doing his knee save him? :P

Dean Polo - I think Polo will be at Punt Rd next year but he could still end up a casualty of  trade week if the price is right or to make a trade to go through. You never know. Geelong had to reluctantly give up Moloney to get Ottens. At the time Moloney was rated by the Cats as a future player for them. Sadly trade week is a meat market.

Greg Tivendale - Gone!

They left out Jacko and Schulz as other possible tradebait. You could throw in Kingy and possibly injury-prone Cass too.

You'd also think all rookies barring Collard will be cut.

It all depends on trade week and what other clubs are winning to pay and how many good picks we are left with. No point delisting players if all you're left with is late picks that return kids who are even worse than what you have offloaded.
