Best Quarters

We had a few quarters this year where we got on a run and kicked bags of goals. What was your favourite one(s)?

The one against the Eagles was ridiculous.

But my favourite was the last quarter against the Lions even though they did fight back in the last after we got the lead we must have kicked at least 8 goals in that last quarter to win it!  :gotigers

I am going the Lions one as well.

I remember I was at the League watching Panthers vs Tigers and getting updates on my mobile.  Was OK at halftime and then was shattered with the third quarter.

I left the league with the West Tigers going down and losing their finals chance, and since the telecast was 1/2 hour behind I was home in time for the start of the fourth.  And Oh Boy what a quarter, expecting a run over the boys came through with a brilliant victory.

I think I even tried to wake up the wife to top off the night but she wasn't interested.  Oh well at least the tiges won ;D.

I liked the 2nd quarter against the Dee's.

If that had of been against the Blues or Pies in front of 80,000, the MCG would have been rocking.

The last quarter of the Brisbane game for all that it represented.  Watching it on TV at a party in Brisbane surrounded by Brisbane supporters just made it all the sweeter!  :thumbsup   :gotigers

For excitement factor and how loud the crowd was it has to be the comeback last quarter against Brisbane.

9 goals in the first qtr against Port at Footy Park was a great effort with our young forward trio doing the business.

We could have kicked 15 in that 2nd qtr against Melbourne at the Dome if we had kicked straight. Something like 8.7 and most of those points were gettable shots.

The 6 goal to 1 last quarter to spoil the Blues Judd party in round 1 when everyone expected us to just turn up and rollover was sweet  :thumbsup.

Wasn't it 11 goals in that first quarter?

The 11 goal quarter was the 2nd quarter vs the Eagles I think.

Just to confir 9 goals in the 1st v Port
11 in the 2nd v the Eagles.

Best quarter was the last against Brisbane for sheer excitement emptiness drama and finally unbridles joy. A quarter of the most naked emotion with a result that went our way :thumbsup

I thought the last quarter v the Blues in Round 1 was great also

And the four quarter effort against Freo in Round 4 was a standout too. :cheers

Brisbane by the length of Flemington straight.

Not quite as good as the comeback against Carltank at Princess Park many moons ago tho.

This one one of the most enjoyable things about 2008.

The black and yellow clouds formed over the stadium and it started to rain goals.

That 11 goal quarter against the Eagles was our eq. 10th best ever and our most accurate ever in the club's history.

When we can turn these goalscoring quarters and halves (10.8 to 2.6 vs Ess  ;D :thumbsup ) into consistent 4 quarter efforts then we'll become contenders. Hopefully we'll see more consistency next year and beyond.
