Apologies for 3 posts in a row but I missed hearing Miller say last week that we will head into 2005 with veterans Richo and Cambo included within our senior list of 38. A summary of what he said has been posted on the Tiger Talk yahoo site.
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/tiger-talk/message/60603The AFL requires for next year a full senior list of 38 (no going short). So to save money we included Richo and Cambo within our senior list so we don't need to draft and hence spend more money on two new players at base senior list rate for possies #37 and #38 on our list. Half of Richo's and Cambo's salary still only counts towards our salary cap. It also allows us to take a full 6 rookies which apparently are on only $25K each. If we're trying to save dough then I presume we may have a similar number of rookies as this year. It also looks like we will most likely be using our first 5 picks in the National draft (1,4,20,36,52) and our first PSD pick (#1). I'd guess we're hoping to pick up other and earlier draft picks through trading ?
