Terry on with Patrick and KB

* Does Terry understand the bumping rule?

Still cloudy. No-one has an absolute understanding which incidents will go up or not (to tribunal).
They had the DVD and thought it was clear, but after the Maxwell incident it's confusing again. It's different to the DVD.
You want an understanding so the players know what they're allowed to do.

What is Terry telling his players?
Keep eye on the ball and play the ball.

* Media scrutiny on Cousins

Scrutiny hasn't gone to far in a football sense. When they show the street and house he lives in, it has gone to far.
The RFC media department has spoken to the HUN. The HUN isn't banned though.
No surprises that they're showing all this stuff, but it's a bit much. Mentioned Polak getting hassled at his home after his accident.

* Game against Pies

It's good for the NAB cup that we get a blockbuster or two this early on.
Although we had a strong team, we still had over 1000 games experience miss out (against Freo).

Sorry I had a phone call and missed a fair chunk of stuff!!  :banghead damn work!  :lol

* Is it Tiger time?

We have to step up and we expect to improve this season.

That's all I got sorry.

And you may not think I care for you

Cheers wayne  :cheers

I did a summary as well.....

* Bump? - still cloudy. No one in the game can give a firm clarification. Some go up some don't. We were given a DVD before the season and we were clear about that but now there's some greyness. Got a few questions now and one of those is to ask for clarification and a player stepping across the line of ball to bump. Thought rule was within 5m of ball. Need that clarified. 3-4 scenarioes so far he would've come up with a different response to what happened. Plough just tells the players to go for the ball.

* Cousins privacy? - we understand he's great footy news and we knew it'd be open slather. Terry just thinks they step over the boundary showing his home. Herald-Sun hasn't been banned. No surprise it's happened but you still have a right to some privacy. We had people knocking on Polak's door trying to get interviews. The home should be out of bounds.

* Coll game? - you did get some bigger games in the NAB Cup. The bushfire appeal game was massive. Good for the comp. It is though still the 2nd round of the NAB Cup and we did have a 1000 games experience out of our side against Freo even though we had a strong side (no Sugar, Cuz). We won't have our best side in. It'll be a good side but we want to try some younger guys and supporters like seeing the younger guys. It's a balance about being competitive and seeing how young guys at this level. An opportunity for the younger guys for play in front of 40,000 after playing for Coburg. Great for kids to perform in the heat of the kitchen.

* Cotchin? - still off the track and struggling then Plough corrected him and said not struggling but he hasn't done the  preseason like we would've liked. Cotch just starting to ramp up his program again. Doubtful for round 1. He's only 18 and we want him to be a 10 year player. He's about the same age as Vickery who we drafted this year. If we are reliant on Cotch to win games in the early rounds then we aren't going in the right direction. Still expect him back for sometime in the early rounds but we won't rush him.

* Gamestyles this year? - will get a mixture. Both SFs last year were different. One open man-on-man and the other with rolling zones. The rolling zone if associated with Hawthorn but even Geelong still zone. If you have the ball on the wing they don't go man-on-man. They cover the space you want to kick to with numbers.

* Too many handballs? It's just getting use to each other (re: teams). Took a little while for our guys to adjust to what Freo were doing new. That's credit to Freo. We altered a couple of things and were fine after half-time. A big positive to be 28 points down and win over there. A sign our mental toughness is stronger.

* New rushed behind rule? Made the game better.

* Is it Tiger time? Our expectations is we will improve and are ready to go.

* Played Coll in his first NAB Cup game at Richmond and it was a fantastic game so hopefully this one will be too.

Still no firm date when Cotch will be back. He said today he hopes to be back training "soon"  :-\.

from today's Australian...

... it may be some time before we see the master and his new apprentice -- Trent Cotchin, 18 -- in the same team.

While the former West Coast captain and 2005 Brownlow medallist will play his first official match for almost 18 months, the Tigers' midfield star-in-the-making Cotchin is still being plagued by an achilles problem that will delay his start to the premiership season.

Richmond coach Terry Wallace said yesterday on Melbourne radio SEN that Cotchin, who created a huge impression last year in his first season, would not be ready to play in the opening round late next month.

"Trent's still off the track at the moment," Wallace said. "He's still struggling with his achilles. I shouldn't say he's struggling with it, but he certainly hasn't done the pre-season that we would have liked.

"He's just starting to ramp up his program again at the moment."

Cotchin has been restricted in his preparation since before Christmas and has yet to join in full training, something Tigers officials still cannot put a timeframe on as he continues on his modified program.

His achilles concerns are on the opposite leg to a similar injury last year that prevented the overall No2 national draft selection of 2007 making his debut until round eight.

So impressive were his first 15 games last year, when he averaged almost 17 disposals, the teenager finished third to Rhys Palmer and Cyril Rioli in the Ron Evans Medal, the AFL's rising star award. The Tigers won 11 games last season, but finished strongly by winning nine of 15 when Cotchin played. "If we're relying on Trent to get us over the line in the early rounds, I think we're not heading in the direction that we want to be heading in," Wallace said.

"We believe he's going to be a decade-plus player for us and he's 18, so we've got to be careful with him, make sure that he's absolutely 100 per cent right to play when he returns."

With Cotchin sitting in the stands for what is shaping as one of the biggest pre-season matches -- expected to draw an attendance of more than 40,000 -- Cousins is almost certain to take centre stage from the outset.

lol. Chaching!

Terry the spin merchant at his best. Don't want to scare off those memberships now. :rollin

If he hasn't run in three and a half months I think it's pretty fair to say he's struggling.

Yep until Cotch starts running again it's safe to say he's struggling with his achilles  :-\. He didn't return to footy with Coburg until round 4 last year. Looks like history is repeating itself  :(.
