Richmond spoon plunge

RICHMOND'S ineptness in Round 1 has prompted a TAB Sportsbet punter to put $1500 on the Tigers for this year's wooden spoon.
The bet of $1500 at $31 (to win $45,000) was placed after the Tigers displayed wooden spoon form against Carlton.
Richmond has also gone for a bath in final eight betting, blowing out from $1.60 three weeks ago to $2.50.
But at $21 it is still a long way from spoon favourite Melbourne, which shortened along with Essendon, Sydney and Fremantle.
The Dockers were a $26 chance a month ago until a punter parted with $5500 on them (to win $137,500). That bet, plus a Round 1 flogging from the Bulldogs, has them into $8.
WOODEN SPOON BETTING:
Melbourne $2.30, West Coast $4.80, Essendon $6.50, Sydney $7, Fremantle $8, Richmond $21.
