Not a good time to be 24 and over at Tigerland
« on: July 24, 2009, 07:03:44 PM »
Whether it's Jade the blade's work or a higher up decision, it seems if you're 24 and over at Punt Rd you're in the gun. The current list management almost splits the list into two it seems.

34: Richo (282)
31: Bowden (265), Brown (213), Cousins (247), Johnson (220), Simmonds (188)
27: Coughlan (90), Newman (149), Pettifer (113), Tuck (107)
26: McMahon (142)
25: King (37), Moore (61), Polak (106)
24: Schulz (71), Silvester# (3)
-----------------------------------
23: Jackson (63), Foley (84), Pattison (59), Raines (56), Thursfield (48 )
22: Deledio (100), Graham (14), Polo (46), Thomson (28 ), Hughes (16), McGuane (48 ), Morton (44), Tambling (89), White (50)
21: Hislop (15), JON (13), Nahas# (13)
20: Collins (10), Connors (10), Edwards (41), Putt (-), Riewoldt (40), Gourdis# (-)
19: Cotchin (23), Post (3), Rance (11), Vickery (5), Browne# (1), Gilligan# (-)

Good info MT, well done.

Makes it stand out how much we are now driving the 'core' for 2011/12.  Only a very few of those > 23 would be considered 'safe' in our list going forward from this season.  Jade might be the "blade" but I reckon he is more likely the "puppet".

Add Sarge and Browny. Ignoring contracts that pretty much says it all torch. About only four 24+ blokes guaranteed a spot next year and two may be only left in 2011 if Richo and Cuz retire at the end of next year.

no way they get rid of tuck, cogs and hislop all at the same time.  we'd have no one to get the hardball.  no way that happens

Hislop is contracted for next year and it's far too soon to make the call on him
Putt will stay, he's too athletic for a 200cm player to cut after only 2 years
Have a look at Angus Graham, its taken him until his 4th year to really have any impact at AFL level, Putt needs to get the same
Would be disappointed to see Polak cut also, plenty who can go before him, we can't cut them all at once

haha you saying you hate to see Polak go & others can go before him shows your mentality about football
let me tell you Polak's would freeze up & his brain would spin out of control if he even got close to playing AFL football again
His finished get over it, but Richmond will keep him & let players like Bowden go before him  :rollin

We all knew you liked Bowden but your going over the top monkey. Bowden was a good player, not great but a good player, in a poor side for over a decade, a player who couldnt lift his team to greater successes like all the other experienced players around Richmond including Richo, including Brown and Simmonds and Johnson et al. For me they should all go except for Cousins and Richo. Its good your loyal to Bowden but most of us just wanna see team success, its not about the individuals its about the club and Bowden has been expendable for a long time IMHO as an AFL player.

ANDREW RAINES CANNOT STAY ON THE LIST IN 2010. if he stays on the list before tuck, cogs, Putt we are doomed.
I say clear out all players that either a. Cant kick soundly or b. MAke poor decisions with ball in hand.  Unfortunatley that is 50% of the list. A few of those include: McGuane, Jackson, White, King, McMahon, Polo, Edwards, Rance, Tuck and the lsit goes on.

it's not just about Bowden it's about the way the club keeps injured players like Coughlan & Brown who have not given nothing to the club for years but they will axe a loyal servant who is a proven fit player & not give him game time to help the team win but will play duds & injured players so to lose games.
Conflict is Bowden wants to win games not be part of a tanking side & is why he is not wanted in the senior team FACT

And the names you bring up shows the true failure of list management at RFC over the past 5 years. We have so many we need to get rid off its not funny.

Actually Raines is one we MUST keep on the list for 2010, on a one year contract. He's highly rated by many outside our club and as a Gold Coast kid he will be a target of GC17. With a top finish in the NAB rising star, 2nd in our B&F and injured since, he could get us a pretty decent pick such as a 2nd rounder if we're lucky depending on the formula that the AFL has worked out.

Coburg's display is making the decision to cut a number of the 24+ guys that much easier.

Raines oh please he is another always injured failure. He is a VFL standard footballer & thats his level
Yes hurry up & send him to the Gold Coast cause no other club would take him from us.

What's this oh please business? We need to keep him for 2010 if we want to get anything out of him. We either delist him this year for nothing or keep him one more year and may get an ok pick for him. Not like I want to keep him for his ability.
