What did we all think of his first game back after returning from a knee?

Come on give credit where it's due please, I actually thought he went really well. He actually provided quite a bit of run, used the ball well and i did not see him turn it over. He kicked a goal and provided a target around the ground a number of times and it was his first game back so lets give him his due please.

Credit where credit is due, for where he's come from in the past 2 months he played really well, he was in Coburg Reserves a few weeks ago
Would be well short of AFL level match fitness as not only has he had the knee but he hasn't played at senior level for over 12 months.

cant blame petts, had a good game , one bad missed mark but he was handy, much more effective today than the other kyabram boy who once again besides maybe 2 or 3 efforts was a waste of space and talent

polo gets benched for one half effort , yet dildo gets away with many ::)

we lost today mainly because we had 3 players with some kind of talent and had fa effect on us

deldio
newman
snake

all those bagging brown, he was great today and we need him and cousins next year
cousins again was just a class above, deledio must look at him and understand what busting ur arse means

Lids was tagged all day yet was still one of the top 10 on the ground according to champion data

though he played quite well, worked hard, used it well in the conditions, only let down was dropping a sitter that would have given him a shot from ~40 mtres or so :-\...will certainly keep his spot

your kidding yourself if you think we need Brown.

one good game and we should keep him on for next year. Give me a break!!

out anyone over 30 except Richo and Cuz

in someone who is prepared to run, chase and tackle and sadly i dont see that in Lids at all.

Great player and we need him but seriously he aint a match winner far from it. Champion data stats are a waste of space.

Last year Bowden led that most weeks so how much should you really pay attention to it.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Big difference between Bowden's Champion Data stats and Deledio's
Champion data takes into account clearances, 1%ers, clangers, effective disposal, all the little things
Bowden got a stack of unaccountable touches playing loose and used it well as he never took risks so his score was high
Deledio is playing as our #1 player and getting the toughest opponent in every game yet still scoring high

Pettifier plays like we used too and how Bowden still does. He stops, props and looks to kick sideways or backwards. He doesn't play on or provide run and lacks the crumbing skills and/or height to fill the small forward or tall forward role.

Petts goal today was not due to his own hard work but rather Collins. He is a less talented Brown.

He offers nothing to the team that someone like Riewoldt or even Hughes would add.

Takes for the year Petts but I hope we can trade you for something at years end because you aint staying on our list.

I thought Petts did well

Certainly ran out of puff in the last quarter and his kicks reflected that but I thought overall he did the job he was asked to do and did it well

Certainly not our worst. He just needs to back it up against the Bombers

I thought he played OK today.

However players like Petts are going to be a gauge on our side, while players like him are making our side it just shows that he is better than the alternatives and until he is pushed out of the side by other players performances (and not by fans or media) then our side will not be a top competitive side.

stats mean crap, he had no effect or influence onthe game and im sick of this "he was tagged" excuse. all players have opponents and the better players get closer attention, but that does not seem to slow down the true champions with  a very hard work ethic

enough excuses for deledio, he does not use his extreme pace to run off his opponents because he is a lazy kid who hates hard work

Sorry to go off topic for a moment but just to address your comments TT - I agree that statistics can not be judged purely on numbers but being in the top five for tackles, highest for goal assists and marks and greatest forward 50 entries really tells the story. If he was not working defensively he would not have laid any tackles or won so much contested ball. High tackles and contested ball means you are in the packs fighting for the ball.

I watched Lids and I think he played well on the weekend. He was able to win a lot of his own ball and use it to assist the team, much more than 95% of the team - all while he was being tagged.

Hard to justify your calls to be dropped with those realities isn't it TT  ;)
