If all the players play for the coach, and we have some luck with injuries, then we're still a realistic chance for ninth.

People dont understand we are in this mess because of many things but i think our 9th finishes has also contributed to the mess we find ourselves in.

People argue lets build a winning culture. thats all good and well but it HAS NOT helped us on field. If we bottom out will it effect our membership numbers. I dont think so!!

We need to finish at the bottom. Fact!! 9th mid table finishes have helped us not one little bit at all.

I am not upset anymore i am content as long as we keep having honourable defeats. It may just work if we go down these honourable path, just ONCE.

This is what I just dont get....
Since the introduction of the national draft we have been so poor.We have the worst win/loss record in the league not counting Fitzroy.Even though we are famous for finishing 9th...we also have a collection of spoons and bottom 4 finishes. This has to correlate to us having a far Superior
crack at the draft than most teams.

Do we now all of a sudden have the right people in place to take advantage of a Tank ? I have no idea-maybe someone can reassure me we do...otherwise perhaps the best thing we can do is stop recruiting recycled players and always go for the best availible kid.

Or maybe just try and learn to win?

Werent Patrick Ryder and JON in the same draft- wasnt Patrick Ryder pick 7 and JON pick 8. We would have taken Ryder if we had the earlier pick, this has been publically stated by people at the club at the time. People dont want to tank, but in effect not tanking has cost us better players and a better future.

Gee Ramps, that's drawing a longbow.  Sometimes the club will get lucky with a later pick because someone they were going to take gets taken earlier and ends up a dud - the 'second choice' turns out ok.  Your argument here is very flimsy and just highlights the risks and vagaries of the whole draft process - something that tanking exposes us to and relies on.  I would much prefer to deal in a known - I know that trying to win every game in the correct manner will teach us something we can't buy at a draft table.

Fremantle were going to take Fiora until we did - they got Pavlich.  Bet they're glad they didn't tank.

Now that we know TW will see out the season it will be interesting to see what take he and the club takes. The first signs of it will be over the next few weeks with our selections. If we are still playing most of our senior players we know TW is still trying to win at all costs if we drop Simmonds (good ridance), Brown, etc and play players such as Vickery and Post then we know we are heading down the opposite path.

I hope we head down the future path and not cling to the moment

Should be an interesting ride
