You talk about nonsensical, irrelevant, flawed, inaccurate.  Biggest disgraceful attempt at legitimising a totally inaccurate poll I have ever seen in my life.  Obviously the criteria and polling sample are terribly disrepresentative.  If it was my company putting out these public results I would be disgusted and ashamed.

My guess is is that people are asked 'if' they had to choose an AFL team to barrack for who would it be. This is why Sydney, Brisbane etc and Collingwood because of all the exposure it recieves Australia wide, has such large numbers.

Well Sydney had better start construction on their Super Stadium for their 1.2 million supporters. ::)

Richmond 392000 plus another 300000 still hiding in the woodwork.

The Storm must be the most popular team in the NRL  :o

Sydney's got one million theatre-goers  :yep

They've had these Morgan AFL polls for at least a decade and we've hovered around the 400k mark. From memory the lowest point was in Spud's final year when we got down to the low 300ks. We just need some onfield success and the bandwagon will kick in. These polls are highly sensitive to onfield performance. Whereas hardcore supporters are one-eyed  :thumbsup, there's the fringe element who only want to be associated with winners. Essendon were up in the 800ks at the beginning of this decade in these polls.
