Your favourite Tiger team
« on: October 23, 2004, 04:51:57 AM »
If you could put together a side of your favourite Tiger players over the years that you've seen who would they be? They don't have to be any good btw lol.

Mine starts from around 1980.

B. Goodwin Turner Bulluss
HB. Freezer Jess  Tape
C. Mitchell  Rioli  Wiley
HF. Brodders Hogg  Richo
F. Brown  Roach  KB
R. Lee  Knighter  Weightman

Int:  B.Gale, Maxfield, Cogs, Newman

B:    Malthouse, McGhie, Sheedy
HB:  Keane, Jess, McLean
C:    Bourke, Barrot, Clay
HF:  Wiley, Hart, Balme
F:    Richo, Roach, Raines
R:    Green, Weightman, Rioli

Int:  Goodman, Fleming, Freeza, Bartlett

Coach:  Hafey
Team Manager:  GR

I like to go for a mixture of skill and thuggery, although i'm not sure where Richo comes in under either of those categories lol

No room for Adam Slater, Wayne Thornborrow, Robert Schaeffer, Strawbs O'Dwyer, Matthew Francis... :lol

My parents bought me a Richmond jumper and enrolled me in a junior footy clinic in 1981...look at me now.

I'd like to see:

B:    Oppy, Thorpe, Sheedy
HB:  Keane, Fraser, McCormack
C:    Bourke, Barrot, Clay
HF:  Harris, Hart, Rowe
F:    Hall, Titus, Bartlett
R:    Wright, Wilson, Dyer

Int:  Jess, Morris, Raines, Rioli

Might have too few in between players - but this team certainly wouldn't lack "presence".

From players I can remember watching -

FB:   Bond      Turner     Newman
HB:  Bowden   Wigney   Free
C:    Campbell  Coughlan Johnson
HF:  Broderick  BGale      Richo
FF:   Brown     Hogg      Naish
R:    Dear        Lambert  Knights
Int:  Mitchell    Wilson    Maxfield  Cloke

(Couldn't think of a CHB that stood out in the past 15-20 years that stood out other than Wigney's early 1995 form)

Why don't we try for:

B. Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser
HB  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser
C    Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser
HF   Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser
F    Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser

Rucks Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser
Int Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser  Mopsy Fraser

Of course, we would need access to another 462 Mopsy Frasers to be able to field a team each week after the suspensions. However, after 2 or 3 weeks I reckon the opposition just wouldn't turn up so we'd win a flag by default.
