Gilligan now has 22Player numbers finalised for 2010richmondfc.com.au

Richmond’s pick in the 2009 pre-season draft, Dylan Grimes, will wear the No. 48 guernsey in his debut year of AFL football.
This is in accordance with the Club’s policy of making newcomers earn their stripes from the outset of their league careers, before being considered ready to wear a number steeped in Tigerland tradition.
The No. 22 guernsey, which had initially been earmarked for a player with previous AFL experience, will now be worn by second-year rookie Alroy Gilligan in 2010.
Gilligan was keen to take the number and, when the Tigers’ pre-season draft plans changed, it was decided that, as he had spent a year at the Club and shown such improvement in that time, he would be granted his wish. This was in preference to leaving the No. 22 vacant, given that several significant lower numbers will not be utilised at Punt Road next year.
Richmond’s No. 1 pick in the 2009 rookie draft, speedy Calder Cannons small forward, Robbie Hicks, will replace Gilligan in the No. 45 jumper.
