42 Tigers have played in the seniors this year

Richmond leads in every category. It has used 41 players (to rise to 42 in the last round with the debut of Dylan Grimes), dropped 24 players and has made 36 omissions - just under double the Bulldogs' tally.

One of the key indictors and goals of the year was to plug as many games into the young players as possible which has obviously been achieved. I am uncertain as to whether this was a goal in the amount of debutants but this figure would have been well and truly reached also.

The benefits of playing so many of the young players that have joined the club this year will be obvious for years to come. First it gives them a taste and a benchmark to strive towards. Secondily it empowers them with belief that if they work hard and follow the coachs directions they will be rewarded. Thirdly it creates competition for spots and depth to draw upon which all great teams have and fourthly it allows the coaches to see how players perform on the big stage, with the other established players, under pressure and in the structure of the team.

We are finally heading in the right direction  :thumbsup
