Songs not to play for a Bridal Waltz
« on: January 11, 2010, 10:45:38 PM »
I went to a wedding recently and the bride and groom played "Two out of three ain't bad" by Meatloaf as their bridal waltz.  :rollin :rollin
Don't people listen to lyrics these days??

"I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you. But don't be sad, cause two out of three ain't bad."

Audience participation time...

So...what inappropriate songs have you heard or a song that you know of that shouldn't be played at a wedding and what is its signature lyric?

not ones that I've heard, but would make you wonder if you heard these at a wedding,

White Wedding By Billy Idol,
"Hey little sister what have you done?
Hey little sister who's the only one?
Hey little sister who's your superman?
Hey little sister who's the one you want?
Hey little sister shot gun!"

She's got the Jack by AC/DC

You Just like me cause I'm Good in Bed by Skyhooks

The Honeymoon is Over - Cruel Sea

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Not at a wedding, but at an engagement party they had hired a guitarist/singer

First song he started off with was that old Paul Kelly classic

"They got married early, never had no money
Then when he got laid off they really hit the skids
He started up his drinking, then they started fighting
He took it pretty badly, she took both the kids
She said: "I'm not standing by, to watch you slowly die
So watch me walking, out the door, out the door, out the door"
She said, "Shove it, Jack, I'm walking out the fcuking door""

I reckon "Fall" by the Psychedelic Furs would be a pretty inappropriate wedding song. Key lyrics:
Marry me and be my wife
You can have me all your life
Our love will never end
Parties for our stupid friends

We will make ourselves a scene
We will live our stupid dream
I am you and you are me
Tie me down and we'll be free

For my brother-in-law's wedding, they had as the song whilst the bride walked down the red carpet the Nick Cave/Kylie Minogue song "The Wild Rose".  I turned to hubby as said "this is about a guy who murders his girlfriend!"
