stuff ..... Round 1, 2008
« on: March 22, 2010, 06:03:23 AM »
I thought each week leading into the next round I would post some video highlights of a previous meeting with our next opponent in which we won the game.

First up is our come from behind round 1 win over the Blues two years ago ....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xNhR7YOmPE

Gone since from then ...... Bowden, Brown, Howat, Hughes, Johnson, Pattison, Pettifer, Raines, Richo and Schulz.

Add to that Foley is out injured, King suspended (was unlikely to play anyway) and most likely Tuck and McMahon will also be overlooked.

So potentially 14 changes to the side for round 1 in the space of two years  :o.

Inspiring stuff that vid! Nothing is more satisfying than beating that Blue FILTH!
I loved all the little written comments that accompanied the "environmental ambassador" every time he was beaten in the contest too.
I remember at the final siren that night, two blokes near me in the cheer squad unfurled a bed-sheet that read: "tankers are wankers", and held it up right in front of the disconsolate Carlton players as they trudged off the ground. As far as moral victories go after their "efforts" to pinch Kruezer from us, it didn't get any better than that.
GOD, I hope we pay them back for last year on Thursday night. I HATE 'EM!!!

i would prefer Cotchin.

that 2008 Team looked good, but when we played against better teams, we got smashed! North Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide gave us a pounding!

i heard that some experts say that some top 8 clubs where happy Richmond did not make the finals.

our game-style was "with the best, when we were on".

 :)

Foley's pace is great, wish he could bring back the 2007-2008 Foley with his great speed!

Yeah Torch-y, I prefer Cotchin too as its' turned out. But it was still pretty ordinary at the time, watching Carlton go through the motions for the last half of 07 to take a "prize" they didn't have any legitimate claim to.
