At least Nason has the balls to take guys on and try and kick the ball forward, he is gaining confidence

And I presume that would be all Nason's doing, nothing at all to do with the coaches?

Are you seriously telling us that Dea did not know he had stuffed up, even when it directly resulted in a goal?

The worst thing you could do to a kid in those circumstances is drag him. Think about what you said about Nason. "He is gaining confidence" yet look at some of the errors he made in his first few games. Just doesnt get punished like a backman does.

Give him a few games, and if hes not ready back to the twos... no argument, but give him more than just his first game at elite level before you make the call.

Mate, footy is a brutal game.
Tell me something then, why does Hardwick coach from the bench for then ?/
Also Paul Roos continually gets players off the ground for a chat, and puts them straight back on. THATS COACHING

Hardwick is coaching from the bench so he can be in direct contact with the players. Paul Roos has the luxury of having many experienced players at the club. If Dea was at sydney he would probably do a long aprentiship in the seconds.

Circumstance at Richmond are different. Dea got a game, and he made some bad errors, but the sort of basic errors that you dont need someone to point out to you. He would have known he mucked up. wouldn't have needed to be told, they were pretty basic mistakes.

Dragging him would have been a real kick in the guts that he didn't need.

Sheedy is clinically insane.

There is no ifs or buts about it.

Amazingly good guy but he's plainly, frighteningly insane. It's scary. I've lived next door to him for 12 years.

Should not be in the media and should NOT be coaching an AFL side for his own and familys sake.

"Play the kids." "Play the kids" "Play the kids"

But if if the kid makes mistakes in his first game of AFL crucify him.

NO.
Take him off the ground at point out his mistake and give him some confidence and put him back  on a wing,
not leave him out there and have HIM CRUCIFIED in front on 42,000 people. If thats good coaching, your on drugs.

Ah no. The kid is backman. He plays in the backline.

You take him off, give him confidence and put him back in the position he got drafted for and the posistion he got into the 1sts for. Put him on the wing on Aaron Davey. Thats a great idea.

Back the kid and tell him to go out there and keep taking the game on.

Don't do a Wallace and try him in 47 different roles and positions in 1 qtr of football..
