Benny Gale on 3AW = 29/04/2010
« on: April 29, 2010, 08:48:18 PM »
Benny Gale was on 3AW tonight around 6.45pm

I didn't catch all of it but he did mention we've hit 41k members

Was asked about the Cuz rumour of the week (retirement). His answer was he doesn't really care about the rumours. The Club cannot control it, so they don't worry about it. Put simply Ben turns up everyday, prepares himself professionally and that's all the Club is concerned about  :clapping

If I remember anything else I'll let you know  ;D

Ah yes...

The rest of it was all the stuff we've heard before, tough year, year of transformation, 16 players on the list that could debut etc etc

Great effort, is that a combination of ticketed and non-ticketed?

And still a clear 3rd on the membership tally of Victorian clubs  :o  :thumbsup. Bombers are on 39.5k and Blues 38.4k.

And that's where it will stay.  No significant movement for any clubs by the time May comes around.  Laugh at Essendon supporters justifying their annual appearance in the Anzac Day game by saying them and Collingwood are the 2 most popular Victorian clubs and thus would draw the biggest crowd.  Only problem with that is that Richmond and Hawthorn have more members, and Richmond beat Essendon's annual attendance figures - every year.

now the next step is to change the tiger insider non ticketed membership to even a one game token ticketed membership ala the hawks and every other club so we can say 41k TICKETED. I know its nitpicking and doesn't make a difference bc overall income is what counts, but geez dosn't it sound better to say we(the spoon favourites) have 41k members more than the blues and bombers rather than 34k ticketed which puts us mid table and affects the outside percetion we give to potential corporate sponsorship? Well done on the 3 game membership, now make the tiger insider a "ticketed" membersip and we are giving off a very positive perception.  :thumbsup
