Hardwick in his EOTT report called the side "schooboys":
"We looked like schoolboys out there in comparison to the bigger Geelong bodies, and, unfortunately, played accordingly.
It’s really important for the players to realise that, at times during a game, even when they’re getting beaten, as long as they do those non-negotiables well – put their head over the ball, tackle hard and don’t cough it up – we’ll accept that."
In our match-review meeting, ‘Axel’ Foley gave the example of Cameron Ling having a go at Paul Chapman for not taking a handball well enough, despite Geelong leading by more than 100 points at the time.
Our guys, right now, are obviously young and inexperienced, but they’re clearly not hard enough in what they demand of each other.
