Why has no one ever looked for tap rucks in the discards from the US college basketball circuit?

You could probably find someone 6'8, huge vertical leap with great balance and movement for their height, good hands who could run 100 in around 11s. All the data would already be out there because of the extensive testing the NBA do. OK they can't kick, but I wouldn't have thought they'd be any worse at kicking than e.g. Israel Folau and they would probably be cheaper too.

The AFL over in the US has got some reality tv show lined up to find one.

The AFL has just appointed former player Tony Woods as its first international development manager. He was present in Los Angeles last weekend at the launch of American Footy Star, a reality TV program attempting to pluck more fruit from the athletic tree. Trials will be held in Dallas, New York and Los Angeles, with organisers hopeful of 5000 applicants.
