RICHMOND midfielder Andrew Collins says the Tigers would measure their second half of the season on improvement, not on wins and losses.

Collins, who kicked a vital goal in the last quarter to help the Tigers to victory over the Brisbane Lions, echoed coach Damien Hardwick's belief the Tigers were building their confidence.

“Our form over the past month has really helped our confidence," Collins said.

“We haven't had a lot of wins so we get pretty excited when we do win, we are starting to build a bit of belief around the place.

“I was very happy with the way we played. It was pretty exciting."

However the 21-year-old was reluctant to predict the number of wins the Tigers were capable of in 2010.

“I don't think we will put numbers on it, it will just be a matter of getting our game plan right and our structure right," he said.

“We are trying to build to bigger things and we will keep trying until we get there.

“If we keep trying to perfect this, that is what we will judge ourselves on."

Collins kicked three goals, had 14 touches and took five marks, drawing praise from Hardwick. His three goals doubles his tally for 2010.

Collins said his last goal, which gave the Tigers a game-winning lead, had been the sweetest.

“That was pretty exciting, it was great to get that feeling," Collins said.

Collins has played eight games for the Tigers this year, after making his debut against Melbourne last year.
