I know we hear things like this all the time, but if Contin and Dea show some good signs this year, last years draft looks like it could be a gold mine.
And you may not think I care for you

But is it the draft or is it the coaching? There are a few players who had been on our list for a while that showed quite a bit last year that took many by surprise.

I agree with Smokey - great post Oiafi! Perhaps our drafting hasn't ever been the problem. Perhaps it was the was was we educated, developed and supported the young players.  ??? The new simplier and consistent game plan must also be easier for the younger players to understand and adopt. You wonder how the careers of the 'Fab 5' and players such as Casserley, Hughes and Oakliegh-Nicholas may have panned out with the same type of education and mentoring.  :-\

Oh yes it has been. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear Striper.
Truth be told we're improving on both levels.

Yes, both areas are improving.

Every draft has hits and misses. When you're a bottom eight side and previous coaches are happy to use only 3 ND picks, you don't leave yourself much room for error.

I agree MM. Just looking for a bite especially regarding the recruitment of JON!  ::) Miller did us no favours and either did the club in terms of drafting personale. How were we ever going to compete against the other clubs on the draft table or development-wise when we were handicapped for decades by insufficent financial support.

I believe we are now bringing in the raw talent which the coaches are refining - should develop some gems!  :lol :thumbsup

If Dea can do more than look good in a singlet, I will be wrapped!
