I'm not a huge fan of Vickery but he has shown enough this year to continue the experiment for a few more weeks. He is still young and I remember Benny Gale literally getting 100 games under his belt before he was any good and then all of a sudden he started to put it together on a consistent basis.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Coburg getting flogged last week has given a few guys a second chance. Good to see Batch back btw.

By the way, what the hell has happened to Raines???
Voss is using Raines as their main tagger in the midfield.

Thanks MT, has he been any good?

He went just okay last week - neither good nor bad but tried hard. His footskills still let him down.

Tagging is probably what his best suited to these days one would think. Seeing how you need to rely more on good foot skills to cut through zones.

I imagine Vickery stays in over post for matchup reasons. Brisbane do have a lot of talls.

I think on Saturday that Raines will kick more disposals direct to Richmond players than he ever did when playing with us

Vickery will be perservered with as we need to get games into our young players especially our KPPs. A coach will tolerate one bad game such as last week so Ty's probably copped a whack behind doors for last week's poor effort and hopefully he comes out on Saturday night and rectifies it.

Played a good pre season game, all down hill since then.
he will need to get 15 possesions to keep his spot. not his average of 5,

Last two games Vickery's had almost no impact either in getting the ball or on the scoreboard
His first 3 games were fine for where he's at, last two were well down although interestingly this is when Miller came into the side

How many ruckman size players born 1990 or younger are getting 15 touches per week in the afl ?
