RFC List and Hardwick
« on: July 26, 2011, 11:30:21 AM »
All this talk about Hardwick can't coach etc etc what a load of  horsedung.
We do this every time it becomes obvious we won't be in the finals, the board buckles under the pressure, sacks the coach then appoints some poor delusional bushy tailed bright eyed hopeful coach who is eventually torn to bits and so the whole cycle continues in a self perpetuating goal to attain 9th position and dwell in the football netherworld.
The new saying for Tiger Fans
ANTICAPPOINTMENT. :-X
But what I want to know is, these players we are picking up what is going on? Relton Roberts, well that worked out well.
Current List what is going on with  :whistle
Dan Connors, he has been recovering for weeks now, no sight or sound :banghead :cheers
Troy Taylor, still at home? ???
Tom Derickx, broken ankle, can he play when fit?? ???
Dean McDonald - what is his Coburg form like?? ???
Matt Dea - what is his Coburg form like?? ???

These are players on our list, mostly unseen this year. Are they the future of Richmond?
Who is picking up these players year in and year out. The question and the problem is the list.
We have a pretty good top 6, maybe even a top 10, but after that there is a string of mediocrity, players who would not get a game at any other club except maybe Port Adelaide. :banghead
Have we had the same player talent scout all this time who loves skinny left footers with no skill eg Fiora over Pav, Tambling over Buddy
It seems that when it comes to picking Dusty, Vickery, Delidio the system has shown us the way so we can't stuff up. What we need to have is someone who can identify the players in the pick zone 30 - 70. Sure, there is some luck involved but let's be honest, even RFC can't have THAT MUCH bad luck. Even when we get a great/good player we can't keep them, harp back to Matthew Clark, Ottens, Maxfield.
There is a common factor holding us back, who or what is it?? I can tell you it IS NOT Hardwick. SO get off his back.
If you are going to cry :'( and say you are sick of this, throw in your membership, pick another club etc etc then you are also part of the problem as it is your talk and whining and whingeing  :'(that is part of the problem. This talk generates a backlash and common negativity which pervades into the system.
Imagine being Cotchin, Martin, Delidio, Vickery, Jack etc standing in the middle of the ground after getting beaten by Port or the Suns, however bad you felt I can guarantee you they felt 100 times worse. Any one of these players would be stars at Carlton or Collingwood.
In essence you have put up with the tigers for this long. Same as me. The least you can do is give your support to Hardwick and his team, let's be honest, that's all we can do as we are Richmond Tragics like it and lump it.

Rubbish.

1 - Wallace a bushy eyed hopeful coach? Total prick full of spin, but hardly a "bushy eyed hopeful"
2 - Every time we wont be in finials the board buckles and we sack coach???? What a big misconception this is. We gave both spud and wallet too long honoring contracts that were very lengthy.

The days of turning over coaches are long gone.
