New advantage rule to stay (afl site)
« on: October 11, 2011, 12:32:49 PM »
THE AFL has confirmed there will be no changes to the rules in 2012 and the contentious "advantage rule" will be maintained.

The rule, introduced this year, gives players the right to make the decision to play on when a free kick is awarded to their team.

Shocking rule that advantage rule.
Adrian and Vladimir are never going to admit that advantage rule id full of crap.
They are only interested in changing the game and leaving their own personal touch to the sport.

The one time we as supporters ask for a rule change or rather a reversal of a stupid rule, the AFL once again can't admit it was wrong and keeps things as they are  ::). The new advantage rule is just plain ridulous as it requires a player in a split moment to know whether a free kick has been paid or not to his team often before the umpire has signalled or not signalled it. It's hardly an advantage if a player thinks it's play on so keeps going under pressure when unbeknown to him it's a free to his team and then the ump seeing the player play on calls play on and the ball is turned over. Just a dumb stupid idiotic rule. No wonder Adrian Anderson thought of it  ::).
