I only got the first half hour so i'll post what i heard and what i remember....

Jack said he hated not playing finals and envies the teams that are.

When asked if he played under injury Jack said he cracked his ribs in a training mishap with a team mate (forget who he said but i think it was a young bloke). He had to play with a guard on. He also said he a hip problem.

Chrisso spoke about how the supporters were so loyal after many lean years. Jack said he felt honoured to be at a club with such a passionate supporter base. He said he regularly goes to other matches and the atmosphere at those matches is never as good as ours, we make so much noise.

Jackstar will hate this..... Jack said the bus trip home from Sydney was great as everyone got to know each other a bit better, especially the young blokes. He said Jacko refused to get on the bus preferring to fly but he eventually got on the bus and he loved it.

They spoke about how funny Rancey is,doing animal impersonations on the bus and playing the joke on Jack when by hiding in the football bin. When asked who organised the cake for Dimma, Jack said Rancey would love to take credit for that too (so i assume it was Jack).

When asked his thoughts about Dimma's call about him kicking less goals he said he thought he had lost it and went into his office to seek clarification. After a discussion he said he agreed with the call. Jack said he loved watching Ty Vickory step up and kicking more goals. Only four teams have six players who have kicked more than 20 goals this year, we are one of them :clapping

Jack also said he had a license to roam up the ground if he wasn't getting a kick just so he could get some touch and confidence.

Jack also said he had only about 5 goal assists last year :o but this year had about thirty.

I arrived at work at this point but i think they were only going to talk about the finals after this.

Well that explains the drop of in form through the mid-part of the season. The question needs to be asked - why did we make him play when we were never going to play finals this year?!  :-\

He did say they managed it really well, however, still playing is good management?

I understand where you are you coming from WP, but where do you draw the line?

As has been said before, there are not too many players that are fully injury free getting towards the end of the season and if we had not played every player with some form of injury/niggle we probably would have struggled to field a side.

There doesnt appear to be a case like foley or richo where by playing these players we have made an injury much worse.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

Kel Moore is the prefect example al.

they played him last year while injured (his hip). Why? Our season was shot, we had kids we could to play but no we persisted with playing Moore, when he could barely run

He had his first surgery and they found when they went in for the first op they injury was actually worse than they thought. You can't tell me playing on didn't impact on that injury getting worse... now he's had how many operations and I reckon it's highly unliklely he'll play again

I ask again what was the point

In 2012 we've had them play Matty White & Jack in Darwin when they were clearly carrying injuries. TBBH Matty White had more padding on his ribs in Darwin than a NFL Qtr back = shouldn't have played.

BrownE clearly played when injured ...ditto Conca in Perth.... don't get me started on McGuane  :banghead

As for having very few players left... yep by year end yep that's a fair arguement but remember we always had the ability to promote another rookie

Mid season though when our season was shot we had players available and chose not to play them instead we played injured players for no benefit ... there was a bloke called Tuck running around at Coburg IIRC who was fit to go,

yeah, true about Moore, but the reality is that injured players will always be played, for a variety of reasons.

All clubs do it, at all levels, it's just a matter of getting the balance right.

Perhaps we still are not quite getting it right, but it is better than it was. As I said, if we rested every injured player, we would probably have struggled to field a full team at times.

We shouldn't forget also, that players will often play down the extent of injuries so they can play. There wouldn't be too may footballers that haven't done that
