Hutchy was the source of the initial rumour.

Gillies' manager Tim Hazell also said we haven't offered 3 yrs at 300k per year if I heard right.

Hutchy reported it 5minutes after it was posted on BF. Goes to show he searches rumour forums  :lol

What can we get him to say? Graham for a top 10 pick?  :lol

GEELONG defender Tom Gillies has asked to be traded to Hawthorn.

Gillies' manager, Tim Hazell, says his client did not actively seek to attract interest from other clubs.

But Gillies has been impressed by the Hawks' pledge to give him more opportunities at the elite level.

"For Tom, this has come from left field," Hazell told AFL.com.au's Trade Week Radio on Thursday morning.

"It's a tough one because he's contracted to Geelong [for another season], and they have the cards and we need them to fall the right way for what we would like to happen.

"I think another club might be the best thing for Tom. Now that could be right that could be wrong.

"Tom's sort in that predicament where if he could get to a certain club he would definitely look at it.

"There's only probably one club that Tom is definitely interested in going to. I think it's pretty obvious that Hawthorn … are after Tom.

"If that deal can be done, then I think it's a win for Hawthorn and a win for Tom."

If a club wants Tom I think this is the trade week to get him.
I can see a few more retirements next year at geelong which could/will open up a spot in the 22 every week in 2013 for him. Which will help them get him to re-sign a contract next year for the long-term future

Certainly is. Milburn retiring and with Scarlett retiring next year will free up a spot on the ground for him. If anything a move based on that needs to made now for him if they want him.

Cant see it happening - Geelong dont want to move him on. Got a year to go on his contract - only way they'll talk turkey is for decent compensation... we dont have that

We could satisfy Geelong for Gillies

But it won't happen because 1) they don't want to get rid of him; 2) he doesn't want to leave; and 3) he'll only leave if it means going to the bumslappers at glenferrie
