Crazy Trade Idea #3 - Luke Power
« on: September 23, 2005, 11:44:09 PM »
stuff going into detail, i'm too tired!  ::)  :rollin

(This was rather hard actually)

Richmond Trade: Pick 8, Pick 24
Richmond Get: Power

Kangaroos Trade: Motlop
Kangaroos Get: Pick 8

Brisbane Trade: Power
Brisbane Get: Motlop, Pick 24

My original idea didn't involve our pick 24, however i think without it Brisbane are getting screwed over, and i couldn't think of anything else to put in!

;D

The Lions get robbed in that deal while the Roos would be laughing getting a top 10 pick for Motlop and Motlop would presumably love it as he'd be living closer to the N.T. Brisbane would rather bypass the Roos and take our first two picks in a straight swap and even then they'd most likely reject it when the Blues, Pies, Hawks and Bombers can offer up better picks. Browny was worth picks 6 and 20 so Brissy will demand something similar for Power. If picks 8 and 24 weren't enough:

Richmond: Lose - picks 8, 24, Krakouer; Gain - Power

West Coast: Lose - pick 18; Gain - Krakouer, pick 24

Brisbane: Lose - Power; Gain - picks 8, 18.

Either way we should forget about chasing after Power instead focus on drafting and developing our own future guns. Having Power and Browny alternating between the midfield and forward lines would be awesome but it's not in our long-term interests again giving up early picks on a 26 year old (in January) no matter how good he is.

A bit harsh IMO but yeah he'll definitely find it harder without Voss, Black, Lappin and Aker around. We'll find out how good a midfielder he is if he does leave the lions.

The Pies are becoming a retirement home for over 25's  - Caracella, Morrison, Woewodin and now possibly Power.

I don't really want Power either, i don't think his a frontrunner per say, but at 26 his a bit on the old side for my liking.

Reported on both seven and nine news that Power is staying with the Lions. The Pies miss out on another big name  :rollin.
