How many wins, what %
« on: June 17, 2012, 12:19:30 PM »
Okay, now we are at the Bye - what expectations do we have for end of year?

We play:-
Crow bots (Crowbot Park)
Demons
Suns (cairns)
Kangas
Blues
Lions (gabba)
Bulldogs
Freo (Subi)
Bombres
Power

To me:- 4 should wins lions, suns, dees and power but can see us dropping one as an upset
2 winnables against Roos and Bulldogs, reckon we win 1
4 toughies blues, bombres, crowbots and Freo in Perth. Gut says we should aim to win 1 of those

I see 11 wins but think if we can play at the level of the first 10 weeks then we may sneak another 1 or 2 wins.

10 becomes the pass mark with 12 or more wins an outstanding effort.

I reckon with 5 wins from our remaining 10 wins and a fairly soft draw any % at or above 110% is both realistic and reflective of a very competitive 22 weeks of football  :thumbsup
Thoughts?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

That's what it comes down to. Can have the greatest % in the comp but if you don't have the wins the % means nothing

So true case in point 1996. Hawthorn pips us by half a game with a %97 while we finish 9th and a % of about 117.
However no draws as yet this season and in some way they will either be handy or destroy you for something like the above to happen.
So long as they keep the mantra of playing well and not get blown out when they don't they'll give themselves every chance.

Beat Adelaide in 2 weeks and it gives us room to drop a game if it comes to that. No one expects us to beat the Crows so we should go in guns blazing with nothing to lose. I think we match up well on them (if Foley playes) - another midfield battle.

% was more a reference to another indicator of our rate of improvement. % has been weak basically for as long as I can remember (relative to our wins/losses) with the exception of 96.
