Kellaway shoulder blow

Richmond, facing a season-defining match against the Kangaroos next week, expects to be without key defender Andrew Kellaway for up to eight weeks.

Kellaway injured his shoulder when caught on the wrong end of a fierce Andrew McDougall bump in the second quarter of Richmond's 37-point loss to West Coast.

The 28-year-old defender left ground immediately and coach Danny Frawley wasn't optimistic about the prognosis.

"It is an AC joint, a pretty ordinary one, and it could be four to six to eight weeks, I think," he said.

"It is disappointing for Chubba, he is one of our leaders and we didn't respond the way you want to when one of your leaders goes down."

Frawley has predicted that 19-year-old South Australian Jay Schulz, who has played only seven AFL games, would be asked to step into a key defensive role.

"He is six foot three or six foot four. He is probably playing before his time but he will get an opportunity now," Frawley said.

The Richmond coach had no issue with his players' efforts, rather their skill execution and decision-making which stopped them from establishing a first-half lead, then saw them blown away in the third quarter.

"We made silly errors. We had Stafford, Ottens (and Richardson) in our forward line for a reason and we failed to play some powerful football," he said.

"When you turn the ball over at half forward the way we did in the third quarter, you see the result of that."

Obviously sounds like Zantuck is out of the picture if we are going to play Schulz in a key backline post.
