SuperFooty explores future captaincy candidates at every AFL club
Adam Baldwin
Herald-Sun
February 14, 2015

SuperFooty has attempted to identify the next leader at your club:

RICHMOND

Trent Cotchin is still 24 and has the gig sewn up for the next five years at least, but waiting in the wings might be young midfielder/defender Nick Vlastuin. The former Northern Knight was the Vic Metro captain in 2012 and if he can continue to elevate his game it won’t be long before he is considered for Richmond’s leadership group. Dylan Grimes, Brandon Ellis and Ben Lennon could also enter the discussion down the track.

Lennon based on what?

Grimes, probably not.

Ellis or Vlastuin maybe.

All things being equal of course.
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

Gerks 27/6/11

But you see, it's not me, it's not my family.
In your head, in your head they are fighting,
With their tanks and their bombs,
And their bombs and their guns.
In your head, in your head, they are crying...

The headline should read "Superfooty pumping out another fluff piece about speculative crap as there is nothing else to write about."

Fox Footy predicts the future captains at your club

RICHMOND

Trent Cotchin was only 22-years-old when Richmond announced him as the club’s 40th captain at the end of the 2012 season. Since then, Cotchin has grown into the job and led from the front exceptionally well at times this year. Still only 25, it seems absurd to suggest who will next lead the club, as that could still be more than five years away. Despite this, Nick Vlastuin — four years Cotchin’s junior — has leadership potential. Indeed, he captained Vic Metro in 2012.

Well, 10 months later and I'd be happy for him to take over soon. Let Cotchin do his thing. Vlastuin looks a born leader. Cotchin a learned leader.

Cotch to keep it for 5 years or so, may just see this cory Ellis bloke come of age. Just a hunch.
I always stuck by grimesy, hope he stays fit freak in great player and bloke.
Floss is as tuff as nails and could step up.
Hate to write off my main man dusty, but just dont think he's cut for it. Prove me wrong and it could be a major step for this team?
