Need to run and create Richmond!

We need to inject run and pace in our midfield.

Our final quarters so far we have stopped running.

We do not run to make space and create options for the next kick.

Have been lucky with a few "close calls" and can not rely on contested football all the time.

We need to run through the lines, spread and use our good players speed and skill to break the match open.

Glad we won and are 2-0, but top eight teams will tear us apart with their run and spread.

We were beaten in the centre clearances last night.

What has annoyed me is how every team manages to create an overlap from their d50 to their f50 against us. I had crap seats about mid way up in the Ponsford but it was a great vantage point. Every time our spare man was parked in the corridor but that's no good when the opposition are running a training drill up the wing. Where as on the other hand it looks as if we often struggle kicking to contests as running zig zags when transitioning.

 I felt we ran the game out a lot better than last week tbh and will be better for it again next week. Early on in the season players are still not match hardened  and we play a pretty frenetic style of play so naturally can happen. Dont think its an issue, but i guess we'll know for sure in the coming weeks.

Dwaino, Waters is a canny fox, thought we were pantsed in the centre square all night and got exploited a couple of times by a pretty intelligent side that a few years ago were exploiting the  best zones in the business. I think our zoning still needs work but we're improving.
