And the Eagles's record this season is so much better.   :lol  Actually, it's worse.  They haven't beaten a side in the 8 yet - at least we beat Carlton.

We have been in the 8 a number of weeks this year and the Eagles have been outside the8 a number of weeks  ;D

Classic 8 pointer tonight, we go to 7th - get it done Tigers
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

If this thread came out 12 months ago I too would be saying c'mon guys have a little faith.

Last year we could hang our hat on the fact we pushed all the good teams. Can't say that this year.

Saw no evidence last week that would indicate we are finals bound.

Of course I'm hoping we can conjour something special tonight however if we do go down ...GO DOWN SWINGING .

The negativity is towards the way we are playing or lack there of the way we are capable of playing, it has nothing to do with the 5-4 result, that is irrelevant. If anything your thread title should be "Why are Tigers playing with so much Negativity??"

I'm just about off if we lose. Yep. Form is pooe. Selection is pooe. A loss and well be 5-5 with poot form. That's assuming the type of losses continue.

I could almost handle a freo type loss. But I'm bracing myself for a reaming :(

The last few weeks or so don't bode well. I don't think anyone will admit they do. Here comes the tipping point.

Teams form tends to change every 6-8 weeks so here's hoping  :pray

While some of it is OTT, the negativity is directed towards how we are playing this year rather than wins/losses. There was an expectation we would see more of our 2012 four quarter efforts against Hawthorn & Sydney this year than the consistently inconsistent efforts we've seen during virtually every game this year. We haven't hit our straps all year and apart from the Doggies game we've struggled to put more than a half of decent footy together each and every week. For mine injuries have played their part as well as the drop in form of some of our better 2nd tier types from last year. Our best 22 is capable of getting us into the top 8 but with half a dozen injuries our depth is being tested and it isn't standing up.

;D  :thumbsup

It's not just the win but the quality of the win that was most pleasing especially after quarter-time. Best team performance of the year by far. Now that the standard has been set we need to keep it up after the bye.
