SuperFooty remembers some creative AFL pre-season jumpers from the past Staff writer

February 04, 2014 12:51PMTHERE have been some hits, but also more than a share of misses.
The pre-season is a time for AFL clubs to trial many things - yes, including jumpers - ahead of another gruelling campaign.
Over the years most clubs have had a go, tinkering with their age-old, tried and true winner that their loyal fans grow to know and love.
And they aren't afraid to stray from tradition.
Sometimes it's to trial a clash jumper for later in the season. Perhaps it's just a good opportunity to show off a sponsor's name.
On the day St Kilda gave footy fans a look the jumper its players will be wearing during NAB Challenge matches this pre-season (well done to the fan who designed that number, we like the retro look), SuperFooty has taken a quick look back through the archives at some of the pre-season doozies from yesteryear.
As you can see below, some haven't been too bad and wouldn't be out of place on an AFL field this season.
But some you look at, shake your head and just have to say, 'what were they thinking there?'
No sash? Richo couldn’t believe this Richmond jumper ... He’d also just given away a free kick in the Wizard Cup Grand Final against Port Adelaide in 2002. Port won by 9 points, for the trivia buffs. News Limited
