Bad luck to Chubba coping a broken jaw. Accidental clash of heads in the first 5 minutes of the game. He'll be out now for the rest of the H/A games :(. Must be a record season for us for broken bones to our blokes  :help.

Hopefully our defence holds up with Thursfield and Graham sharing the 3rd defender role.

Terrible news. Was having a great year and would have been in the top 10 of the B&F for sure.

We should have enough players to cover him (Moore, Morrison and Schulz can also fill his spot) but he'll stll be missed.

Kellaway breaks jaw, likely to miss six
By Lyall Johnson

Richmond's hard-fought win over the Bombers yesterday has come at a high price with gutsy defender Andrew Kellaway breaking his jaw.

Kellaway went down in the first few minutes of the game after colliding accidentally with Essendon's Scott Lucas at the MCG.

After picking himself up from the turf, Kellaway was taken from the ground by trainers, blood flowing from his mouth. Richmond officials said Kellaway's injury was serious, with two breaks. The club expects him to miss at least six weeks.

Coach Terry Wallace described the loss of Kellaway, a stalwart in the Richmond defence who often mans up on the opposition's second forward, as "massive" and mused over the number of broken bones the Tigers had had this season.

"Unfortunately the nature of the game is, it's the price you pay," Wallace said.

"I think we've had something like six or seven fractures so far this year. All in all, you can say it is a credit to the guys, keeping their eyes on the footy and going and winning the ball.

"It is terribly disappointing from a point of view of structuring up and trying to get your best players on the ground.

"He's been a great player for us this year, really has been in very, very good form. A massive loss."

Richmond lost captain Kane Johnson before the game. He had not recovered from a knock to the knee he received last week against Sydney.

Andrew Kellaway RICHMOND

JAW: Suffered a double break to the jaw in a heavy clash of heads with Bomber Scott Lucas in the first quarter of Saturday's win over Richmond at the MCG. Was taken to Epworth Hospital and underwent surgery yesterday morning to have plates inserted into his jaw.

DOC SAYS: Kellaway will be able to commence light training in 2-3 weeks but is unlikely to play for at least six weeks.
