Under the rule – which has been floated in the past – a player cannot take possession if he goes to ground; he would be allowed only to knock it on.
A free kick would be paid against the player who took possession when he dived on the ball – without anyone tackling him.

and then they wonder why crowds are going down... People just needed a trigger - it was the variable pricing but even if they scrap that people will continue to leave the game, bc overall its become a crappy game to watch due to all the tinkering they did over the past 10 years

Yep. My interest is currently on a knife's edge as it is.

How much more out of touch can these clowns be? Soccer people must be licking their lips.

A better analogy would be Rugby Union, either way, it's a bit like saying people who follow footy would never watch Test Cricket.  Different sports with different expectations.

my guess would be they've taken the idea from gaelic footy, which has such a rule and is a fast free flowing game.

may as well ban tackling while they are at it.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

People's disenchantment in the game to only rise.

Footy mums, greed and an administration driven on driving the game from the common man and making it unrecognizable have unabatedly destroyed this game.
