Monopoly on a Generation (GC / GWS)
« on: June 08, 2014, 10:39:23 PM »
Thoughts on selling our soul (is it even worth anything?) and trading the entire currency of the list for top draft picks. Set the club back 10 years but acquire a monopoly of a generation.

Next year trade out Maric, Jack Riewoldt, Deledio for top 10 picks, + our first draft pick.

Year after trade Cotchin, Rance, Vickery for top 10 picks.

Get rid of everything, and try and get a monopoly on a generation of talent just like GC and GWS have done (thanks to concessions)

We have decent currency and could get some seriously decent picks for them. Need leadership and currently have nothing.

In mean time find a coach with some form of plan b maybe even a plan c

Won't work pope because we will just  hire a coach  like we have now

If we don't have a ruthless coach with a ruthless administration we will always fail. Top ups like spud, 3 yr deals will always kill the coach

He said play the Richmond way when the season is over. He is finished

I have no respect for a club who extends a contract after losing an elimination final to 9th team

President who has no idea and a footy dept led by millers sidekick FJ

We are stuffed Pope look around at the top end down to the village people (players)

Got nothing to lose

Pretty much my thoughts.

Can't see the current crop really beating GC and GWS together, may as well tip them off and start again from the basement, get as much currency as possible and build from the beginning, no half turn over. Get maximum draft picks and build a monopoly list that will take it to GC and GWS when their core group is aging.

I think making 15 year plans are ambitious
