Richmond Football / Richmond Way / Richmond Model
« on: June 09, 2014, 05:50:21 PM »
Had a few beers today watching the footy and the local with some mates who support various clubs.
Really enjoyed being the brunt of most jokes. Something different.

Had an interesting chat about each clubs style of play, what they stand for, how they play and their strengths.
We got to Richmond and it was pretty quiet.

What is our game plan / football way? Fremantle obviously try to shut opponents down, So does Melbourne under Roos, North and Port play slingshot football and use their strength in fitness to beat teams, Sydney play a mix of tempo football and keepings off much like Hawthorn does. Geelong play pretty free flowing, play on at all costs and an emphasis on contested football.

What is our strength? What has to go right for us to win? Are we a contested team? I guess we were last year and it worked. Now our game plan has moved towards keepings off, even if Hardwick harps on about contested football, our game style is slow and possession based. We aren't contested beats, thats not our strength. We don't play on at all costs, we don't shut down teams.

We are lost. So lost. Well I am anyway.

What are our strengths / the Richmond way? What is it? I have no idea.
