Jamie Soward from the Mighty Dragons is currently without doubt one of the biggest and best kicks in league. He is also one of the fastest. I'm talking Deledio or Nahas fast. In all honesty I think he would be better than Inglis at adapting to AFL. He would be a ripper on the wing or a Half forward flank. He also kicks really well on the run and in pressure situations.
Watch a few Dragons games and you will see. I watch all of them being a Dragons supporter but I am not biased when saying this. He will be the next Andrew Johns.
Not a bad kicking action

Karmicheal Hunt re-signs to the Suns.

It happened on the weekend so it isn't new news any more, but couldn't find a relevant thread to chuck this in. I thought it was a really good interview, and as a kid that moved to QLD in the 80s and being teased for no reason other than liking Aussie Rules, it strikes a close chord to see the game grown like it has in 25 years.

Eat poo thugby. Bunch of bum sniffing packers.

Karmichael Hunt calls an end to AFL career (afl site)
« Reply #33 on: August 28, 2014, 01:20:58 PM »
KARMICHAEL HUNT's AFL career is over.

After five seasons with the Suns – including their VFL year - 27-year-old Hunt told his teammates on Thursday morning he would not be continuing at the club.

It is believed he is returning to rugby  - union, however, not league - to link with the Queensland Reds.

The former rugby league international shocked the football world in 2009 when he announced his dramatic code switch to join the fledgling Suns.

He played 44 games, and alongside skipper Gary Ablett was the face of the code for the AFL's 17th club.

A string of injuries including a broken toe, staph infection and concussion has restricted him to just one senior game this season.

Surprised they didn't mention that match winning goal against us as the highlight of his career

Massive win for me, created plenty of interest and was a serviceable player.

Took the spotlight at a time when the other focus would have been how poo they were playing.

Remember the cash was for marketing, not footy salary - he got the same as everyone else for that, and when you spend plenty of time on the Gold Coast as I do, you know that he was a massive winner in that regard, got paid a fraction of what he earned.

A few million so he's done well out of it.

Agree with TBR. The AFL only got Hunt to code swap for the publicity it would generate up in the NRL states while the Suns were building and developing their young squad. Now that the Suns are competitive (and winning when Ablett is playing) and they're getting decent home crowds up at Metricon (greater than the Titans), they no longer need him. So it's been a win-win.
