Hope they give Menadue more of a run than last week. Hunt should have been dropped.

The sub rule is the worst rule in footy.
And I don't even think coaches use it right.
Why have a guy play for 3 quarters and another play 1 quarter? Wouldn't it be better to play 2 guys for 2 quarters each at 100%?

Just on Menadue, he needs to get out wide and get some easy kicks to get some confidence. Run up and down the wings like a madman for 2 quarters and get some cheap, link up footy.
I'd play McIntosh on a wing for the first 2 quarters while the game is still hot and sub in Menadue at halftime to inject some pace after the game opens up a bit.

Because they are worried about the consequences of an injury. If someone gets injured in the last quarter then you are only down in rotations for that quarter, not the whole half. Agree with sub rule though, it's a bad rule.

Massive opportunity for Ty Vickery, will be watching his game and level of intensity

We've been waiting for 7 years so I wouldn't hold my breath
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

I understand that but I wonder what the percentages are for the season for the sub rule being used for a injury as apposed to just replacing a player around the 3/4 time period? I'd think it's heavy towards the just replacing a player because you can.

Should elevate Castagna from rookie status and let him run the ball out of the back line with his pace.
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

As mentioned in the game thread, Menadue is the sub, so he's not going to get much game time unless someone gets injured early.

For me the best scenario is half way through the 3rd. Player x busts his gut for the first half and after half time most players are back to at least 90% and ready to go again but are quicker to run out of puff again. This is why they bust a gut for another 10 mins then bring the fresh man on.
