Next up is Lids.

Brett played 19 matches in his 10th season to bring his overall career tally over the two hundred mark to 214 AFL games. Remarkably, this season was the first time in 7 years that he missed a game due to injury when he was out from rounds 3 to 6. His best returns this year we 34 & 31 possies vs GWS, 33 disposals vs Suns, 30 possies vs StK in R15 & 29 disposals plus 3 goals vs Sydney in our R23 victory. Playing more forward later in the season delivered 12 goals in the last six games for a total of 20 goals in 2014 - his best goal return since 2009.

Needs to play back pocket / quarter back: due to houlis softness, morris lack of skill. Not to mention our team mates deficiency

A shame cause he's required middle and forward too

A seven for me, while he will be always an above average player I have given up hope of him going to the next level to be an elite player

slow 1st half of the year due to injury but went up a level imo playing as a perma fwd. If he plays most of the season high HF next year will kick 40 goals easily.

I always hold Lids in High regard. He was brought into the club when the Tigers were absolutely poo, didn't exactly have a lot of on-field leaders to look up to/mentor under.

I don't think it's a coincidence that he's game has improved once stability in the midfield kicked in. I also believe that Cousins short stint at RFC had a lot to do with the improvement of Lids (and Cotch and Dusty also). I'd argue that he has better ability than Buddy (due to his versatility in HB, outside midfield, high HF) but of course Buddy has had x9000 more on field success.

It's one of those sliding doors where you think "would he have killed it at another club." and for me the answer is a absolutely yes. To play the hypothetical, if Hawthorn had Lids and Roughead and we got Buddy and Tambling, would we have won one (let alone 3) premierships by now?

Reckon the injury got in the way. This is the first year where he was coached to his strengths. I would love to see Ryan Crowley run with him playing off the forward flank. He'll kick a bag and get the pill.
