Burning questions for 2015: Richmond
Can Damien Hardwick coach Richmond to a finals win? And if he doesn't, what's his future?

Hardwick comes into 2015 as the AFL coach most under the pump. He was out-coached by Mick Malthouse in the Tigers' 2013 elimination final loss and seemed bereft of ideas as Port shredded Richmond in their final in 2014. One criticism of the Richmond coach is that he has failed to produce enough players in the black and yellow who can play in multiple positions – a necessity in today's game – thus giving him limited options, or plans B and C on match days, if things turn sour.

The Tigers also allow good teams big run-ons and don't seem able to wrest momentum back. This has to at least be partly the fault of Hardwick and his coaching panel. Richmond simply has to learn to steady then shut down surging opponents.

Even though Hardwick was given a contract extension until the end of 2016, the equation is simple. The Tigers have to win a final in 2015 or else the coach will be axed early.

I reckon they won't sack him even if we lose a final again. They'll wait till the end of 2016

Can't see them sacking him if we continue to lose finals.... that would still technically make him our most successful coach in the last 30 years.  :rollin

Who is this Bradley Dawson and why is he getting air time?  Ive read three threads devoted to his dribble, none of which seems to be overly well researched, analysed or written.

I would like to see our leaders step up, when we are getting hammered, & show some real leadership on the field!
The club that keeps giving.

when things go bad plan B is often  go 1v1. we have so many average players we cant go 1v1.
Again this bloke is right we play the game on our terms usually bruise free footy but when this is taken away from us we fold. theres no denying this we have constantly seen it in big games. we saw it in an elimination final against carlton where they just went 1v1 and we could not cope. port just wiped us of the oval we had no answer to what they did.
we are like backyard bullies lord it over weaklings when its all in our favor but go to water as soon as it gets hard and its not in our favor.

geez look at some of our players they epitomise this. grigg, houli edwards vickery griffiths grimes. etc etc.

How do our contested possessions stack up then?
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”
