Hated him as a PM but loved him as an elder statesman.

RIP Malcolm

This news is devastating :'(
I came to know Malcome personally over the last 10 years through his love of fly fishing.
Never in my life have I meet a nicer gentleman.
He was one of the most humble blokes I know, far from everyone I have heard he was as a polatition.
My condolences to Tamie and family.
RIP mate :(

Not the time for criticism of his time in government but from afar Fraser became a changed man post-politics as he got older. Mind you his attitude and policy towards accepting asylum seekers and refugees was long held, beginning with Vietnamese boat people. IMO, his most significant achievement and legacy as PM.

RIP.
