3 years into a 5 year plan / Deja Vu
« on: April 11, 2015, 05:41:47 PM »
Why are we always behind in what the rest of the competition are succeeding at....

It took us 5 years to recruit athletes and runners around the Wallace regime and by the time we got some cattle for that game plan we were a rabble vs the new contested football successful game plan.

We then pour resources into contested footballers that then failed against the rolling zones because of avg foot skills.

We now invest heavily into skilled disposal type players but are now to slow and lack engine to play counter, ping pong footy that Dogs played today and that Port Adelaide play.

It's stuffing joke. We learnt nothing in pre season. We will get thrashed by sides that play this type of football all year.

We are always a couple or years behind current game styles. It's pathetic...

Go Tigers!

Exactly my thoughts after watching this weeks games Pope.  The style has moved to manic, in your face pressure and we're trying to perfect the maintain possession style that worked for other teams previously, and once again we will be chasing the pack, not leading it.  It's looking more and more like Dimma and his team have taken us as far as they can and we seriously need some new thinking (certainly not Thompson or Malthouse) at the top.
