As the Tigers seek a fifth straight win against West Coast at the MCG tonight, Matthew Richardson said the next two weeks (against Sydney and Greater Western Sydney) would reveal whether they were top-four contenders.
“I think ... you will be able to get a really good handle on where the Tigers are at for the finals, whether it’s top-four or top-six or fighting it out for the top eight,” he said.
“I think you will know more in about three weeks, it’s a really tough few weeks.”
After their 2-4 start to the season, the Tigers have now broken into the eight with four straight wins, inflicting the first loss on Fremantle last round in Perth.
Richardson said it was clear the team was now all on the “same page”.
“It is just a good synergy around the whole ground. — the back line into the midfield, into the forward line, they are all on the same wavelength,’’ Richardson said.
“Players are playing well in all areas, they are executing the game plan that they want to, patient ball use, but going fast when they need to.
“There seems to be a maturity about the way that they are playing ... you’ve got to say at the moment they are playing really good footy.’’
