Tiges' foreign legion
« on: November 27, 2005, 07:08:54 AM »
It must be a good sign in terms of our player welfare managment (and recruiting spotters) when we are confident as a club to pick up kids from interstate with all three picks. Not choosing one Vic must be a first for us.

We've got a few young or fairly young interstaters on our list now:

WA - Cogs, Krakouer, Oakley-Nicholls, Casserley
SA - Meyer, Schulz, Hughes
Qld - Raines, McGuane
NT - Tambling

Then there's Richo, Gas, Joel and Paddy, Razor and Staff.

Out of the last 4 drafts (2002-2005):

VIC - Sipthorp, Moore, Roach, Jackson, Hartigan, Tuck, Foley, Deledio, Pattison, Polo, Limbach, Thursfield (11)
SA - Schulz, Meyer, Hughes (3)
WA - Oakley-Nicholls, Casserley (2)
QLD - Raines, McGuane (2)
TAS - Gilmour (1)
NT - Tambling (1)
NSW - Archibald (1)

Tuck was from the SANFL but originally from VIC.

As far as the "go home" factor goes, we have/had 8 kids who could of pulled it.

Archi being delisted makes 7.

3 were taken Saturday, which makes 4.

Schulz has been here 3 years and you'd think if he was doing to do it, he'd of been whining about it already, that and Adelaide don't need anymore young KPP.

That leaves Meyer, Raines and McGuane.

I've said this from day one, and that is that Meyer is going to want to go home, ever since his reaction on draft day im convinced his gonna want to do it.

Raines is unlikely to, considering his family history at the club and that his already settled in well from what i've heard.

McGuane might be a bit of a worry, time will tell.

We must keep Meyer!

Spot on Ramps  :thumbsup. He has far too much talent for us to lose him although there's no hint of him going. I wouldn't go by looks on faces when they are drafted. I can give an example about disinterested faces - Cogs - but someone here tells me off for bringing it up all the time  :lol.

One about Oaks is he sounds pretty happy about coming to Tigerland  :).
