SEASON 2016 might be the year of the Tigers and the Hawks continue to lead the pack, but it’s going to be tough for the Dogs with the Cats and Power fighting for a finals spot.

It might be months away from the first bounce of the home and away season but plots are already beginning to form around the fortunes of your AFL team.

In December, there’s at least 14 clubs with genuine claims on a 2016 finals spot, but come September only eight will survive.

There’s plenty to play out in-between, so we’ve taken a peek into the crystal ball to make 16 fearless predictions for season 2016.

TIGER TIME

AFTER three straight elimination finals exits, 2016 will be the year of the Tigers. They won’t win the flag, but they will win a final and that’s progress for long suffering Richmond fans. Sluggish starts have plagued them over the past two seasons and things have already hit the skids with Dustin Martin facing a heavy suspension. However, the Tigers showed maturity in the second half of last year and have experience winning big games. Their ability to beat the Hawks last year on the MCG, and in the coaches box, shows they also have the tools. It may only be a small opening but there’s light poking through the premiership window.
