Cardinia Shire excited to host Tigers
richmondfc.com.au
October 27, 2015 12:00 PM

Cardinia Shire Council is excited to play host to an AFL Pre-Season Challenge Game in February, in a first for Cardinia Shire. Richmond Football Club will take on Hawthorn Football Club at Holm Park Recreation Reserve, Beaconsfield at 4.40pm on Saturday 27 February.

The game will be held in Cardinia Shire as part of the Council’s partnership with the Richmond Football Club.

Mayor Cr Leticia Wilmot said Cardinia Shire’s partnership with the Richmond Football Club was delivering some fantastic benefits to the local community.

“It has been fantastic to see the club being so active in Cardinia Shire, and even better to see so many Cardinia Shire residents taking up the opportunities to take part in training days, club and business development sessions, the Tiger PAW (Physical Activity and Wellbeing) program and Richmond’s charity partner The Alannah and Madeline Foundation’s Better Buddies Program,” she said.

“Grab the kids, grab a picnic rug and enjoy the rare opportunity to see some of the big names in footy playing at your local oval. We hope plenty of our residents take advantage of this chance to see the ‘tiges’ in action!”

Interesting the club wanting to support the Cardinia Shire. Pity they didn't afford the Hume Council who built them a venue free of charge the same courtesy when we had that deal

But I keep forgetting Craigieburn was a the previous regimes thing and not a Benny Gale initiative  :whistle

Just a heads up

There is a members pre-sale for tickets to the NAB challenge games today  (9am to 5pm)

There are only 7,000 tickets to the game against the Hawks down at Beaconsfield

So it is recommended that people purchase tickets to that one.

Members are supposed to get into NAB games are free but tickets for the Beaconsfield game will set members bakc $5 each

Any thoughts on the team for NAB 1?

IMO, I think we'll go a younger side so the older players avoid a trip to WA and back. So based on that:

B:  Morris      Astbury      Elton
HB: McIntosh  Broad      Vlastuin
C:   Conca    Lambert     B.Ellis
HF: C.Ellis     Griffiths       Rioli
F:   McBean  McKenzie    Lloyd
R:   Vickery   Martin   Townsend
Int: A.Moore, Menadue, Marcon, Costagna, C.Moore, Markov, Short, Chol

b]AFL 2016: Which player will be up for the NAB Challenge this pre-season?[/b]

JON ANDERSON
Herald Sun
February 13, 2016  8:00pm

EVERY new year brings new hope, new faces and some new role for familiar names. JON ANDERSON tells you what’s been happening at your club over summer.

RICHMOND

THE Tigers plan to go young, with all of Nathan Broad, Adam Marcon, Oleg Markov and Daniel Rioli likely to see action. Broad, taken at 67 in the 2015 draft, has impressed in defence. Re-cycled players Andrew Moore and Jacob Townsend will also get game time. Of the experienced heads, the Tigers are delighted with the pre-seasons of Sam Lloyd, Reece Conca, David Astbury, Ben Lennon and Corey Ellis. As for Chris Yarran, the club privately believes he will bring a skill-set that can add some serious spice.
