The numbers that really matter for your club

AFL.com.au has worked with Champion Data to find your club's best performers in some key metrics. The stats are rounded to the first decimal point, however, the players' ranking is determined by his actual standing in that metric (i.e: Melbourne players Cameron Pedersen and Christian Petracca are both listed as averaging 1.4 score assists a game but are ranked 28th and 44th respectively. This is because Pedersen's actual average is 1.428 and Petracca's is 1.375).

RICHMOND

The numbers debunk some myths about Richmond players, or at least highlight their improvement.

Trent Cotchin, who has a reputation for short, sideways kicks, is now a top 20 player for metres gained.

And Shaun Grigg has cleaned up his disposal and has a retention rate of 61 per cent when kicking inside 50.

It is no surprise to see selfless forward Jack Riewoldt leading the assist and scoring chain categories.
