Who would be a better option in 2017 - Cloke or Ben Griffiths ?
« on: September 02, 2016, 01:24:19 PM »
Looks like Vickery is definitely gone .

Jacks a wonderful player , but we cant expect him to do it all on his own .

Lloyd is handy and has exceeded expectations but wont install much fear in the opposition.

So we have Ben " my best is 14 goals in a season " Griffiths  or do we recruit a washed up former power forward - who did destroy Rance back in 2013.....but looks a mental case now.

I have zero confidence that Benjamin will ever have a breakout year ....2017 will be more of the same.

Do we roll the dice with Cloke ? - who could be good for 30-40 goals.

Or do we just write off 2017 and continue to play a raw Chol ?

Thoughts ?

Forget about 2017 if your relying on Griffiths to do anything.

Let's be honest here the guy is a spud

An over the hill Cloke would clearly be better  than Griffiths yet we hand out two year deals.
It really is hilarious

A fully fit Griffiths would be better than Cloke now (as opposed to Cloke at his prime who would be easily better).

Problem is he is almost NEVER fully fit. Ended the season with a bad groin injury to add type other soft tissue injury to his growing list. Add to that is that he cannot play with injury when many players can.

They have to find another 2nd ruck
Griff get smashed up in the ruck and Richmond need him in the forward line to at least compete and allow the ball to hit the ground so the smaller forwards come into play.

Cloke has the runs on the board, but seriously are any of you falling for dimmas dramatic improvement? I'm not, so therefore we keep griff and see if he can step up the next couple of years.

Jack Riewoldt won his first Coleman at 21 years of age . His second at 23 years of age .

Ben Griffiths is 25 years old this month - his best is 14 goals in a season .

Even Vickery who has played this season with as much conviction as a cardboard cutout kicked 26.

You should include that he has had a year in defence and plays second ruck. He is rarely the prime target forward. He was against Sydney at the G this year......
