RFC - Key Position Forwards
« on: May 28, 2017, 09:08:03 PM »
Remove Jack from the equation, focus in on the 2nd KPF position this year:

Ben Griffiths:
2 Games, 0 Goals

Todd Elton:
6 Games, 1 Goal

Ivan Soldo:
2 Games, 0 Goals

Soldo criticism might be harsh as he is a ruckman rather than a forward, but has been rotated through there.

When you factor in that Maric and Hampson are also on the list and from what it seems highly unlikely to play again this season, possibly ever again. Is there a worst stock of forward talls in the competition?

How does said List Manager keep their job after having a season without a genuine ruckman and we were forced to put up with an injured Hampson for a whole year and have no small forwards at AFL standard for an entire season.

Not good enough. Any tall forward that can't get a game, give Richmond a call and walk into the team without a pre season.

Josh Bruce, Majak Daw, Tabener, Crameri, S.Reid. All would be a huge improvement to our list.

Pray that Jack remains fit....

Unfortunately they put all their eggs in the  Griffiths basket.

Can't believe Chol is not getting a run . Couldn't do any worse than Elton .

It really is amazing. Same goes for our defensive kpp too. We have garhwaite, Chol and Moore. I understand none are true key position and none are ready ? So yeh an absolute disaster that we have ended up in this position.

Sadly, Chol has done nothing so far this year in the VFL to warrant a call up. From a forward line perspective, you would drop Elton and play Lennon as a marking forward. At the moment, Caddy is being played as a second FF anyhow because we're getting nothing out of our actual 2nd KPFs. So we might as well bring in Lennon and free up Caddy for the midfield rotation. Problem is Nanks can't ruck all game every week and we'd burn him out if we did. So we need to go with either Elton or Soldo purely from a ruck stocks viewpoint. It's a catch 22.

We've been asking how Blair Hartley has kept his job as our list manager for the past 5 years.
